Schedule: June 22-August 14 (7:45AM-12:00PM or 12:00-6:00PM)
Position Summary:
Bethany Parks and Recreation is seeking a reliable and flexible Program Floater to support our summer camp program. This position plays an important role in maintaining smooth program operations by assisting with class coverage, supervising participants, and safely escorting students from designated pickup locations within the school to their scheduled Parks and Recreation summer camp programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Pick up students from designated areas within Bethany Community School at scheduled times and escort them safely to Parks and Recreation program locations.
• Provide supervision of participants during transitions and program times to ensure a safe and positive environment.
• Fill in for instructors or assist with classes and activities when needed.
• Support instructors and program staff with setup, cleanup, and organization of program spaces and materials.
• Maintain accurate attendance when assisting with program check-ins.
• Ensure that Parks and Recreation policies, safety procedures, and behavioral expectations are followed.
• Communicate effectively with staff, instructors, and supervisors regarding program needs or concerns.
• Provide a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
Qualifications:
• Experience working with children in a school, camp, recreation, or youth program setting preferred.
• Ability to supervise and engage groups of children in a positive and professional manner.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to adapt to changing program needs.
• Must pass any required background checks in accordance with town.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to walk throughout the school building to escort students.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during program supervision.
• Ability to assist with light setup and cleanup of program equipment.
