Bethany Awarded $344,000 Grant for Round Hill Road Improvements

Bethany, Connecticut – First Selectwoman Carol R. Goldberg announced that the Town of Bethany has been awarded a $344,000 federal grant to support the reconstruction and paving of Round Hill Road.

The announcement was made at a press conference attended by Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, State Senator Jorge Cabrera, and Kevin Smith, Captain of the Bethany Volunteer Fire Department. Speakers emphasized the importance of planned safety improvements along Round Hill Road, an important connector between Bethany and the neighboring town of Woodbridge. The project will include roadway regrading to improve visibility and widening to enhance access for emergency vehicles.

“For residents and commuters alike, infrastructure really matters in people’s lives,” said Congresswoman DeLauro. “The funding we celebrate today will enable the Bethany Department of Public Works to begin comprehensive safety improvements.”

Congresswoman DeLauro and First Selectwoman Goldberg highlighted the value of locally directed federal investment for small towns, emphasizing the funding goes directly to the community and reflects priorities identified by local officials.

“This is an incredible investment in our town,” said First Selectwoman Carol Goldberg. “The $344,000 grant represents almost our entire road budget for the year. This makes a significant difference in a town like ours.”
